This figure was announced by analysts from a statistical organization. World Population Review, placing Turkey in 10th place in the ranking of countries in terms of the required cost of living.
Afghanistan took first place with 354$, Tunisia and Sri Lanka took 4th and 5th place with 424$ and 428$, respectively. Egypt was in 11th position with 449$.
The CIS countries were ranked as follows:

Northern Cyprus is not included in the ranking (it is still an unrecognized state). At the same time, the minimum amount in Cyprus was estimated at 1.226$.
On average, prices in Northern Cyprus are 30% percent cheaper than the southern part of the island. If it were in the ranking, it should be located somewhere in the 80-90 position between Thailand and Chile with 860$.
How much can you trust the data?
It seems to us that the data for Turkey is underestimated.
Since 2024, the minimum wage has been increased by 49% and amounts to 578$. For a month of comfortable living and covering basic needs per person, you need to count on 500$ if you have your own apartment or about 800$ taking into account rent.
Northern Cyprus will cost more at 800$-1000$.
